Goals for 2012

So I've been doing some thinking about what my doll goals will be for next year.  This first year of doll collecting, my resin family has grown rapidly.  I am very happy with my collection, no doubt, and each and every one of my dolls brings me a lot of joy.  But I think next year will not be a big doll-buying year like this one was.  I'm not going to leave the hobby or anything, but basically shift the focus of my spending (both time and money).

At this point, there are only a handful of dolls on my Immediate Wish List.  I call it an Immediate Wish List because basically it is a list of definite dolls that I will be buying and I hope to buy them as soon as possible.  I also have a much broader wishlist of "oh that doll is pretty, I would like her".  And then of course, there are the times that I come across ones on the marketplace that I just can't resist.  So in 2012, I'm going to finish off getting the dolls in the Immediate Wish List.  At least two of them I'll probably just put on layaway, so they'll be spread out anyway.  But I really want to work on having more of a separate doll fund, and putting money back into my non-doll savings since I've spent a lot of my savings on dolls this year.

But I think my primary doll collecting goal in 2012 will be to accessorize my dolls.  Make sure each one has more clothes and shoes of their own, as well as other accessories and items that they would like.  I am always in awe of the set-ups and doll houses that I see people put together, and *that's* what I want to do for mine.  It might seem like a lofty goal, but I'd like each of my dolls to have their own bedroom.  So I'm going to see what I can do about converting the attic (which is just off my workroom anyway) into a doll space for dioramas.

I also want to spend more time practicing my creative skills with my dolls.  More photography (maybe even photostories ^^) , sewing, more knitting, maybe try my hand at making other clothing and items.  I want to make videos/vlogs too, and get better about updating this blog.  Oh, and I need to make/update my website(s)...  Lots to do, lots to do... ^_^

  1. The attic idea is really cool! I wish I had the space, time, and money to do that. I'll have to see it! Maybe we can do vlogs together or at the meetups? I need to get better at that. Are you going to try to do the BJD addict prompts? That's what I had been trying to do.

  2. Do vlogs together how/about what?

And I dunno about doing the prompts. I wanted to, but there's so many now. I dunno.

  4. I don't know. When ever we have time over whatever we want to? I've managed to do two of the prompts and want to eventually finish them all. You should do box opening videos. That would be cool.

  5. I'm just saying, if you have an idea to do group videos, develop it fully. Videos on what? I have ideas for my own videos. I don't have ideas for videos involving others, so before I can say yes or no to doing them at meetups and then committing my time to editing them later, I need to know what you mean about "whatever we want to". What will be the topic, who will be involved, etc?
