Glad you found me, and thanks for reading! ^^ This is just my general all-purpose blog about my life, although mostly my life seems to focus around my ball jointed dolls. I admit, the holidays kinda make me a sappy person.  I know the whole story of Thanksgiving, you know, what happened to the Native Americans and all that, isn't pleasant and that the whole Thanksgiving meal with the Pilgrims and Native Americans is just a cheesy made up thing I guess.  But I think the idea of having a day of thanks - even though we should be thankful every day - is just pretty nice.  Plus I like the traditions of Thanksgiving - getting together with family and friends over a big special meal and saying what we're thankful for.

So, I would like to share what I'm thankful for:
  • Boyfriend - that he accepts me for who I am even though I can be a huge silly dork sometimes (ok, more like all the time) and that he hasn't been scared away by my dollie obsession or any of the other weird quirks about me.  He makes me smile and is there for me all the time.  And even shares some of my nerdy interests.  :D
  • My family - I don't talk about my parents much I guess, but the truth is, we're really close and seriously I don't know what I would do without them.  My mom is like one of my best friends for real.  Not to mention I am thankful for the way that I was raised - my family was always loving and supportive.  My parents have always encouraged me with my interests and hobbies.  I think that's really important and made me who I am today.
  • My friends - I am normally a very shy person, and this is the first year that I can really say that I have real friends of my own who share my hobbies and passions.  I am so glad that I met everyone from Arkansas Tenshi and that we've become so close.  We started out as doll friends, but now I can really say that we're so much more than just doll friends.  I feel like I can be myself around these friends, and I'm really thankful for that.
  • My pets - My pets really bring so much joy to my life.  There have been rough times that sometimes the only reason I've made it through and gotten out of bed and gone on was to take care of my pets.  Plus they are silly and sweet and make me smile.  And I'm thankful for anything that makes me smile.
  • My dolls - yes, I'm thankful for my dolls.  They are more than just inanimate objects to me, because my imagination has brought them to life so to speak.  They are my muses.  Thanks to my dolls, I have made a lot of big steps in overcoming my social anxiety and getting out there and going to social meetups and making friends with people.  They also inspire my creativity and because of them I'm motivated to get back into creative writing, sewing, knitting, and other crafts and such.  Plus they make me happy.  When I'm upset, I can always play with my dolls to take my mind off of things.
  • My social groups - I already mentioned being thankful for my friends, but also I am thankful for the social groups themselves and the opportunities I've had because I'm a member of Arkansas Tenshi (Northwest and Central) and the Clockwork and High Tea Society.  Being part of the CHiTS Armada and workgroup has been a great honor and I am very excited for our future growth and future events and projects.
  • My hobbies and interests - They keep me sane!  And make me strive to be a better person.  I'm glad I'm a creative person with a lot of things to do to keep me busy and expand my mind and skills.  I'm glad to have the opportunity to express myself and expand my world through all creative arts and crafts, cooking and baking and bentocraft, the dolls, video games, Steampunk and Lolita stuffs, anime and other media, music, and everything I'm passionate about.
  • Getting to be who I want to be.  I am happy to be myself, my own inner child, and do the things I want to do, like the things I like, be silly and carefree, watch cartoons and kids movies if I want to, color in coloring books if I want to, dress up like a frilly Lolita princess if I want to, play with dolls and stuffed animals if I want to, and be happy because of all those things.
  • The Internets - Yes, I'm thankful for the internets.  Because without social networking sites especially, none of this would be possible!
  • My health, a roof over my head, food on my table, enough money in the bank to get by comfortably, my education, a car that gets me where I need and want to go, and all the other things that we sometimes take for granted.
  • Hello Kitty.  Just because I love Hello Kitty.
  • Lots of yummy noms.  Especially pumpkin pie and pumpkin cheesecake which I am determined to learn how to make this year.  :D
  • And free access to the gym on campus so I can work off all the noms after the holidays!
  • And sooooo much more.  ^^

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  I hope you have a great day with your loved ones and remember all the things you have to be thankful for.
